【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedasameansforobtaininganextractofminingwaste.Theextractmaybeusedtoestimatethereleaseofcertaininorganicconstituentsofthewasteunderthelaboratoryconditionsdescribedinthistestmethod.Theuserisadvisedtominimizetheholdingtimebetweensamplingandtestingifthewasteissuspectedtocontainreactivesulfideminerals.Note28212;Thismethodisnotintendedtobeusedasakinetictesttosimulateweatheringofminingwastes.Forkinetictestingofminingwastes,refertoTestMethodD5744todeterminereleaseratesforconstituentsofinterest.ThepHoftheextractionfluidusedinthistestmethodistoreflectthepHofacidicprecipitationinthegeographicregioninwhichthewastebeingtestedistobedisposed(see1.2).AnintentofthistestmethodisforthefinalpHoftheextracttoreflecttheinteractionoftheextractantwiththebufferingcapacityofthewaste.Thistestmethodisnotintendedtoprovideanextractthatisrepresentativeoftheactualleachateproducedfromawasteinthefieldortoproduceextractstobeusedasthesolebasisofengineeringdesign.IftheconditionsofthistestmethodarenotsuitableforthetestmaterialUSEPAMethod1312maybeused.Thistestmethodhasnotbeendemonstratedtosimulateactualdisposalsiteleachingconditions.Thistestmethodproducesextractsthatareamenabletothedeterminationofbothmajorandminor(trace)inorganicconstituents.Whenminorconstituentsarebeingdetermined,itisespeciallyimportantthatprecautionsbetakeninsamplestorageandhandlingtoavoidpossiblecontaminationofthesamples.Thistestmethodhasbeentestedtodetermineitsapplicabilitytocertaininorganiccomponentsinthewaste.Thistestmethodhasnotbeentestedforapplicabilitytoorganicsubstances,volatilematter(seeNote4),orbiologicallyactivesamples.Thistestmethodhasundergonelimitedtestingtodetermineitsreproducibility.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefortheshakeleachingofminingwastecontainingatleast80%drysolids(20%moisture)inordertogenerateasolutiontobeusedtodeterminetheinorganicconstituentsleachedunderthespecifiedtestingconditions,thatconformtothesyntheticprecipitationleachingprocedure(SPLP).1.2Thistestmethodcallsfortheshakingofaknownweightofminingwastewithacidicextractionfluidofaspecifiedcompositionaswellastheseparationoftheliquidphaseforanalysis.ThepHoftheextractionfluidistoreflectthepHofacidicprecipitationinthegeographicregioninwhichthewastebeingtestedistobedisposed.Note1PossiblesourcesofinformationconcerningthepHoftheprecipitationinthegeographicregionofinterestincludestateandfederalenvironmentalagencies,stateuniversities,libraries,etc.pHvaluesgiveninUSEPAMethod1312,thatare4.2eastoftheMississippiRiverand5.0westoftheMississippiRiverandarebasedonacidprecipitationmaps,areexamplesofvaluesthatcanbeused.IfthepHofthelaboratorywaterislessthanthedesiredpHforthesite,donotusethistestmethod,useTestMethodD3987.1.3Thistestmethodisintendedtodescribetheprocedureforperformingsinglebatchextractionsonly.Itdoesnotdescribealltypesofsamplingandanalyticalrequirementsthatmaybeassociatedwithitsapplication.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealth......
